The following protocols are intended to assist school staff and their communities when working with Aboriginal people from the Lower South Coast and in the handling of information that documents Aboriginal people’s history and culture or have Aboriginal content.

These protocols are a guideline only. They have been developed in consultation with the Aboriginal Elders and Aboriginal Community of Eden.

If you are unsure about any matters relating to local Aboriginal identity, language, culture, history or how to include Aboriginal meaning and context into your school community in an authentic manner, then it is important to contact members of your Aboriginal community to ensure the correct approach is used.
